Business License Information
New Business License Application
Applications for a New Business Tax License may be obtained:
- In person at the front counter of City Hall
- By downloading the Application for Business Tax License (link here)
The State of Tennessee requires the following information on all new applications:
- A valid email address
- Social Security numbers for all individual owners and/or EIN Number
Any person or entity operating a business within the City limits and generating gross receipts is required to obtain a City Business License.
Application Fee & Processing
- Application Fee: $15.00
- Processing Time: Please allow at least one (1) week for processing of applications and fees.
Once approved, businesses will be classified and assigned a license by the City of Rocky Top.
Please note:
- You may also be subject to separate business registration and/or fees administered by the County and/or Municipal Clerk.
- It typically takes 7–10 business days for the Department of Revenue to complete business registration.
