REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS
City-Approved Wrecker Services
The City of Rocky Top is seeking proposals from qualified companies to provide on-call, city-approved towing services for the municipality.
Scope of Work
The approved wrecker services shall abide by the City of Rocky Top, TN Wrecker Policy and Procedures 2026 or any subsequent revision. A copy is available at City Hall, 195 S. Main St., Rocky Top, TN 37769 during regular business hours.
Major response requirements included in the Policy and Procedures are: availability twenty-four (24) hours with inspected/approved vehicles in proper operating condition and a qualified operator on duty during on-call period; an inspected and approved tow lot within a ten (10) mile radius of Rocky Top’s corporate limits; response within thirty (30) minutes from when the dispatch request is made to the wrecker operator; and proper licensure and insurance. Other requirements and permitted charges are listed in the Policy and Procedures.
RFP Submittal Requirements
Submittals in response to this RFP shall include the following:
- Name and address of the person, firm, or corporation;
- Location and description of all properties to be utilized in connection with the business;
- The number of wreckers or towing cars owned or available for use by the applicant and a description of each wrecker to determine a proper classification (i.e., Class A, Class B, etc.);
- Proof of insurance; and
- Appropriate business licensure documentation.
Selection Criteria
City staff will review all submitted proposals and submit them to Rocky Top City Council for acceptance of two (2) providers.

To be considered, proposals must be received by 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 18, 2026. Electronically submitted proposals will be accepted. All proposals should have the words “RFP Response” on the front of the envelope or subject line of the electronic submission.
